City of Iuka Building Permit Application
[Please read all of this section before submitting.]
If the construction cost exceeds $50,000.00 for new construction or $10,000.00 for remodeling, the Contractor MUST have a State of Mississippi Contractors License. Construction cost will be figured by the square footage per submitted plans and calculated by the building inspector, at the curren average building rate per square foot and will also determine the amount of the building permit.
403. BUILDING PERMITS (CITY OF IUKA ZONING ORDINANCE)
403.01 – Every application for building permit Shall be accompanied by a drawing in duplicate showing the general shape and dimensions of the lot to be built upon or to be changed in its use, in whole or in part; the location, size and height of any structure or part thereof; the number of families or house keeping units the building is designed to accommodate; and, when no building are involved, the location of the present neighboring lots as may be necessary to determine and provide for the enforcement of this ordinance.
403.02 – If the work described in any building permit has not begun within six (6) months from the date of the issuance thereof, said permits shall expire and be called by the Zoning Administrator.
After issuance of the Building Permit, the Building Inspector will make several inspections. The Building Permit may be withdrawn during any phase of these inspections and construction halted if non-compliance is found and is not corrected.

In accepting this permit, the applicant understands that all conditions of the permit must be met, all other regulatory permits have been obtained and elevation certificate will be provided once the project is completed, and agrees to allow on-site inspections as needed during or after construction to determine compliance with this permit.
