Mayor John CastleberryAs Mayor of the City of Iuka, I would like to welcome you.

Northeast Mississippi is known as a region rich with literary culture, architectural treasures, and some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. Situated in the northeasternmost tip, blossoms the small town of Iuka, the Gateway to Mississippi.

We are a city full of character.  A place where nostalgia meets modern, where busy shopping centers meld into quiet, shade bound streets lined with historic homes and buildings, yet minutes away from high tech plants and prosperous factories.

Take a tour of historic homes and buildings, spend an afternoon at the Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum, visit the only museum in the world dedicated to aprons, go on a picnic in one of our two beautiful City parks or have a “slugburger” from the historic Front Street Snack Bar in historic downtown. Hunting, fishing and water sports are available in our area. Situated just minutes from the city limits are Eastport Marina on Bear Creek, Mill Creek Marina on Mill Creek and Pickwick Dam. There are several events during the year.  The largest of which is the Iuka Heritage Festival held over Labor Day Weekend and The Battle of Iuka Re-Enactment.

For those considering relocation, Iuka is a friendly, family-oriented community which offers an outstanding school system, quality medical care facilities, a variety of religious opportunities and a strong local government.  There are many varied community and civic organizations, retail shopping, restaurants, and industry in and around our city.

Come visit with us and experience some Old-fashioned Hospitality! We hope to see you soon.
