Iuka is run on the Mayor-Board of Aldermen form of government, which consists of a Mayor and 5 aldermen.

The mayor and the board of aldermen meet once each month to discuss issues affecting the residents of Iuka, suggest improvements, control finances, and to help the city grow.

On occasion there may be issues that require immediate attention and cannot wait for the next scheduled board meeting. In these situations the Mayor may call a special board meeting to resolve only that issue.

Residents of Iuka may submit any issue to City Hall and have the issue placed on the agenda for the next general board meeting. The officers will research the issue, get feed back from the overall population and bring the issue up for vote.

Iuka’s monthly meeting is held the first Tuesday of each month and are open for the public to attend.
